Tech Tools
A lot of software is used in Instructional Design and Development. Here are some links to tutorials to help you learn how to use them.

Interactive Courses
These are electronic documents that users can access online and click around in to use.
Most ID job descriptions that I've encountered ask for proficiency in at least one of these. You don't necessarily need to be an expert at these, at least, not immediately, but getting a general feel for the software and making enough projects that you're comfortable using them is a good idea.
Articulate Storyline
Adobe Captivate
Video Creation and Editing Software
Videos are important when you are showing a process, or when you want to record your screen so the learner can see where you are clicking. Camtasia is a screen recorder and video editor in one software. Vyond is an animation maker. Canva and Lightworks are video editing software.
Document Creation and Editing Software
This is a very writing-based job, so you'll need to know how to use word processing software. I would also strongly suggest that you use a free typing game online to increase your typing speed if that is a struggle for you.
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Google Docs
Photo Editing Software
You may need to change up some photographs or other images to make it match your lesson better. Here are some software options to use.
LMS
(and SCORM)
LMS stands for Learning Management System. That's where your documents are stored online.
Your organization might also have a Content Management System (CMS), which basically does the same thing.
(Note: CMS can also stand for Customer Management System or Client Management System. Make sure you know what kind of CMS your company has before you try to store files in it!)
Articulate Reach 360
Canvas
In-House Systems
Your organization might have its own LMS, which is fine! They are all very similar, you'll learn it quick!
